Trent Morris (Founder) has grown Rock and Roll Coffee Company from it’s humble beginnings in 2001 to a thriving locals favourite and tourist destination in Australia’s “Biggest Small Town” Mullumbimby.
Unlike some cashed-up owners who wouldn’t think of touching their cafe without an interior designer on hand, Trent literally built the business by hand over the last decade, including laying the tiles out the front. ‘There’s a great food history that comes out in the business,’ says Trent. ‘I come from a very long tradition of hospitality; when my great-grandfather moved to Sydney he opened an oyster bar called Victor’s on King Street, which my grandfather took over when the time came.
In 2023 Trent Brought long time friend and chef Daniel Johnson into a partnership. ” It was a no-brainer, I love the man, he cooks exquisite food and he was ready to take on the challenge” says Trent.
Chef Daniel Johnson is one of the main draw cards of Rock and Roll. Daniel has cut his teeth at some of Sydney’s top restaurants and specialises in authentic asian and creole dishes. ‘People love Dan’s food!’ says Trent ‘ He’s cooking is the backbone of why people keep coming back and our crowd just grows daily”
